    • LKH note:
      Lottie Ponder, dau of Joseph, did married someone with the surname of Lewis but it was not William J. Lewis. And she did not marry until after the 1920 census and the 1922 city directory when she lived in Danville and was a waitress. By the 1930 census she is divorced with the surname of Lewis and back living with her widowed mother.

      There is different Charlotte "Lottie" Ponder who married William J. Lewis. They also lived in Carrol Township, Vermilion County, Illinois. William Lewis and this Lottie had four children by 1910 and a fifth by 1920. William's wife Lottie died in 1928 and is buried beside him in Woodlawn Cemetery.
