Floyd Poe, 78, of New Castle, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, at his home. He worked and retired from Chrysler Corp. after 36 years. He loved hunting and fishing. He was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Murl, Ky., a son of the late Cicero and Febie Dabney Poe.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Rosemary Razor; two sons, Floyd Stephen and Thomas Poe of New Castle; three daughters, Deborah (husband: Gary) Tower, Susan (husband: Bruce) Bilby and Marla Asberry, all of New Castle; 13 grandchildren, R.J. (wife: Ann) Scott, Barbara (husband: Jay) Lewis, Chris (wife: Peggy) Tower, Robert (wife: Marnie) Tower, Anita (husband: Robert) Hamlin, Melissa Poe, David (wife: Stacy) Bilby, Rachel (husband: Jeremy) Platts, Sarah Bilby, Jackie (husband:Chris) Price, Stacie, Caleb and Haley Asberry; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon Tower, Matthew Tower, Benjamin Tower, Elizabeth Tower, Samantha Masters, Febie Staley, Makayla Price, Elias Platts, Shelby Scott, Ross Hannon and Logan Lewis; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, George, Lewis, Taylor, Chester, Benjamin, Marvin, Johnny, Arthur, Charlie, Marie, Manzie and Sarah.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Marcum-Troxell Community Funeral Home with the Revs. Eric Haler and Lynn Furrow officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
