      Fleming was the son of Reason Jarvis and Elizabeth W. Heath. He married Mary J. Heath on October 15, 1856 in Montgomery County, Indiana.

      Fleming and Mary had six children: Lenore, Jasper A., Carson, Lavada, Thomas Addison and Emma.
      After the death of Mary, Fleming married Rebecca E. Heath. she was the younger sister of Mary. They had two children: Myrtle J. and Oakley.
