Bark Camp Mills, Whitley was a mid 19th century camp for tanbark gatherers who supplied area tanneries. A sawmill accounts for the name. Bark Camp Mills existed between 1858-1931, when it became just Bark Camp. In the Daniel Boone Recreational Area now. It is on KY 1277, 12 miles NNW of Williamsburg.
