    • Clyde Shafer
      Continental – Clyde Shafer, 68, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, where he had been a patient one week. He was a retired fireman and custodian.
      Born July 6, 1898, in Putnam County, he was the son of John and Ella Shafer.
      Surviving are his wife, Hazel; one step son, Dallas Nofsinger of Continental; three grandchildren; four brothers, William and Forest, both of Continental; John E. of Oregon and Carol of Toledo, and two sisters Mrs. Ray (Mary) Thompson of Continental and Mrs. Thomas (Ida) Krumm of Toledo.
      Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Walker Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Tompkins will officiate and burial will be in Monroe Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
