- Martha Caskey Joseph, 71, of Beaver Falls, Pa., formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, in Reformed Presbyterian Nursing Home, Pittsburgh, Pa., as a result of deterioration of her liver.
Born Dec. 20, 1931, in Clarinda, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late W. Howard and Mary Horning Caskey. Martha was a graduate of Geneva College, class of 1954, receiving a degree in elementary education. She was an active member of College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church, Geneva Women’s Group, College Hill Women’s Group and the Missionary Fellowship at the church. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she taught elementary school at Linn-Mar Elementary School, Marion, for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas A. Joseph; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sandra Joseph, Big Beaver, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bill Graham, Lawrence, Kan.; five grandchildren, Alycia, Laryssa and Audrianna Joseph, Brandon Graham and Meghan LaBonte; and a sister and brother-in-law, Glola and Jay Basler, Mundelein, Ill.
There will be no public visitation. Her wishes were to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3217 College Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa., with her pastor, the Rev. Anthony Selvaggio, officiating. Private interment will follow in Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New Galilee, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 7418 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
