    Morning Sun - James R. Robertson, 75, died Tuesday, April 16, at Burlington Medical Center.

    He was born to John P. and Lena Baird Robertson on July 15, 1909, and rural Mediapolis. He married Vessie Meyers on December 25, 1933 at Wapello.

    The couple farmed for many years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Morning Sun Lions Club, the Louisa County Historical Society, the Garden Club and the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church.

    Surviving: His wife, Morning Sun; a son, Milton, Janesville, California; daughter, Janet Caudle, Lexington, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; a brother, Clayton Robertson, McAllen, Texas; six sisters, Hilma Gardner, Rock Island, Illinois, Marjorie Brown, Felton, Missouri, Dorothy Swanson, Campbell, California, Marian Smith, San Diego, California, Betty Caparoon, Muscatine, and Barbara Howe, Manteca, California.

    Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Harlan Naylor, Sharon Cemetery. A memorial has been established

    Robertson Infant Dies; Rites Held
    Wapello – The two month old daughter, Valeda Joanne, of Mr. and Mrs. James Robertson died Sunday morning at the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Robertson. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon and burial made in Sharon cemetery, south of Morning Sun.

    Morning Sun – Funeral services for Mrs. Marlene Sue Wilson, 34, of Honolulu, Hawaii, former Morning Sun resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church near Morning Sun.
    Dr. G.M. Robb will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. The body is at the Pierce Funeral Home in Morning Sun.
    Mrs. Wilson died Wednesday, Dec. 22 at her home.
    A daughter of James and Vessie Meyers Robertson, she was born May 9, 1937 at Wapello. She was a graduate of Morning Sun High School and the Burlington Hospital School of Nursing where she previously was a member of the hospital teaching staff.
    The former Marlene Sue Robertson married David Kyle Wilton, Sept. 6, 1958 at Morning Sun.
    Survivors include her husband, David, who is stationed with the U.S. Air Force at Honolulu; a son, David and a daughter, Tami, both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Robertson, Wapello; a brother, Milton Robertson of Fairplay, Colo. and a sister, Mrs. Janet Caudle, Quebec, Canada.

    Milton A. Robertson, 72, of rural Douds died at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

    Born Sept. 14, 1939, in rural Morning Sun, he was the son of James R. and Jennie Elvessie Meyers Robertson. On June 17, 1961, he married Janell V. Luebs in Denver.

    Mr. Robertson farmed south of Douds, owned and operated Douds Kwik Stop convenience store and was a longtime bus driver for Van Buren Community Schools. He worked as a range conservationist for the U.S. Forest Service in Colorado and northern California, retired in 1987 and moved to Douds.

    He graduated from Morning Sun High School and Colorado State University.

    He served as chairman of the administrative board of Christ United Methodist Church in Douds and served the church in many capacities.

    He was a past master of Celestial Lodge No. 413, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Douds, member of Ottumwa York Rite and Davenport Scottish Rite Masonic bodies and currently president of Ottumwa Scottish Rite Club.

    He was Chequest township clerk, member of Douds Community Club and previous member of Lions Clubs in the West and in Cantril. He was active in the Republican Party.

    Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy Rawls of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Elizabeth Enserro of Lonetree, Colo.; one son, James Robertson of Douds; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janet Caudle of Bonne Terre, Mo.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

    Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, rural Morning Sun.
